Porsche Club at PIR North Pits - Portland, Oregon on 10/23/05
On the left above is a 1992 Acura NSX. I was battling all day. I acutally posted a quicker time than he did for the first 5 runs but then
he edged me out on the 6th and final run where he posted a 39.511 VS my 40.350. I’d still rather drive his NSX though as it’s just one dead sexy car! Interestingly, the owner said it cost him a
couple of thousand for a 60K timing belt, etc checkup and maintenance. Ouch! That makes the Accord yet again one economical racer since Accord same maintenance would be under $1K or the same
work ;o)
On the right above is a 1990 Accord DX sedan that has been stripped to weigh about 2500lbs without the driver. The engine is a fairly stock F
series 130HP engine but has an LSD custom transmission and 1993 rear accord ex disc brake conversion. The owner said the disc brakes bolt right up without any drilling or conversion
problems. Suspension was just some normal H&R springs and KYB shocks and some heavier 17” wheels and street tires. He posted a 38.713 best time placing him 29 out of 54 overall raw
time. That just goes to show you that the mighty Accord sedan doesn’t have to be powerful to place well in the pack.
Below are just some random pics for your drooling enjoyment.
