restoration

Here’s my current project - restoration of a 1995 Accord with an H22A Engine :-)

Purchased from Chris Merto AKA DOHC_VTEC Accord and it was delivered to me on 9/26/03 Thanks Chris!

I just couldn’t see an Accord die a slow death in a Salvage yard so I decided to try to restore this Accord to good health once again
instead of swapping the H22A engine into my 90 Accord. I needed a 4th and 5th Gen Accord anyway right? LOL.

Since the existing fiberglass hood shattered in the accident, the salvage yard covered the engine bay during shipment but it was uncovered for about 1 month and the sunroof was stuck open about one inch so the engine and the interior were pretty dirty when it arrived.  My Dad was visiting so volunteered to clean out the interior. Thanks Dad :-)

List of damaged parts and condition: (see sudsequent pages for progess and more pics.)
:
1. Fiberglass hood - Toast. Will replace with carbon fiber OEM style hood for about $ 380.00
2. Front Bumper Cover - Not too bad of damage and may work with just repainting.
3. Radiator - Toast (Easily replace for $175.00 in parts)
4. AC Condenser - Possibly toast - won’t test it as air conditioning has been removed from this car.
5. Fenders - various dents and crinkles - Usable but will look into carbon figer replacement.
6. Radiator cooling fans - the metal one was slightly bent so just bent it back out and the plastic one has one broken guard spoke but
both fans work and are usuable. Possible replacement with slimline fans cost unknown at this time.
7. Airbags: Deployed and toast - Not sure if replacement is necessary or not yet due to intended autocross use of car.
8. Headlights, fender lights, bumper lights and housings - all toast - will look into replacement with JDM style lights.
9. Front metal apron - bent in about 2 to 3 inches from stock. Body shop will repair - cost unknown at this time.
10. Missing oil cap - Salvage yard stole it bastards! But it was only about $7 from Honda for a new one
11. Battery - dented slightly but no cracks and is working for now.
12. Windshield - toast from the passneger airbag exploding into the windshield and completely cracking the windshield.
12. Various other minor parts such as overflow tank, some mounting hardware, etc..
