NOTES::
|
This car used to be Chris Merto AKA DOHC_VTEC Accord’s car and I purchased it from him after it was in a minor accident which damaged the radiator
core support, hood, window, airbags, radiator and a few other things Then I restored it to the beauty it is today! Click here to see all the restoration project pictures and notes on the progress.

I really don’t want to sell this car but I just bought another car and do not have room for 4 cars! So, it’s time to sell it to someone who will give it a
good home :) I’ve put over $10K into this car and if you were to pay someone to install everything in a similar accord it would cost over $23K or more!
I’ve completely babied this car and professionally maintained it very well.
I’ve autocrossed it about 7 times and it handles like it’s on rails. I’ve also been able to do a 14.8 quarter mile with street
tires. Other than that I’ve just used it for fun driving as the third occasional driver.

Below is listed of notes and things that still need fixing:
1. The Oregon title is listed at Branded with a note of Previous Damage - California
AKA Salvage. This is due to the previous owner getting into the back of a pickup but there wasn’t any structural damage. The insurance said it would cost more than a stock accord was worth so they declared
it salvage and gave the owner a check and then he bought it back from the insurance company. I have a list of what parts were replaced but mostly it was the front grill, radiator support, windshield and a few
other items. The professional body shop that welded in the a new radiator support wrote down that the car is straight.
2. The following has been removed from the car
a) Both airbags -
they deployed and I didn’t replace them. I put in a Sparco racing steering wheel instead and a passenger side cover to match the dash.
b) Air conditioning, power steering & cruise were removed
at the time of the engine swap. I have the A/C compressor and cruise control but I do not have the power steering pump or the front A/C condenser. Both parts are fairly inexpensive if you wanted to add
power steering or A/C back in.
2. The car has an intermittent problem of getting an engine code (code 10) for the intake air temperature sensor (AIT) when the ambient outside temperature gets fairly
warm. The previous owner that did the engine swap traced the problem back to too long of wiring for the sensor. When the code is thrown nothing discernible happens to the performance of the
car. Possibly replacing the AIT wires would correct the situation.
3. The power antenna mast motor isn’t working. However, the mast can raise and lower manually.
4. The front and
rear bumper covers have some scratches and chips on them. I was going to repaint them or replace them with maybe some JDM or different style bumper covers but am selling it now.
5. The front left
and right fender have some small dents in them and a few paint streaks. I was going to replace them with carbon fiber fenders or have the fenders widened but am selling it now. Otherwise the condition of
the paint is very nice and shiny and I’ve washed and waxed it regularly by hand.
6. The interior leather is in very good condition in most places. However, the seats do show some wear with a few
small holes here and there from usage.
7. The coin tray is missing on the drivers side. This part is inexpensive if you want to get another one.
8. There is a bit of surface rust on the
DC stainless steel header but this is typical on stainless steel headers and doesn’t effect anything.
9. Trunk carpet panel is missing that covers the spare tire. Used ones are fairly inexpensive
but I’ve never needed one so I never replaced it.
That’s about it. As you can see a lot of work and $$$ have gone into this car and the selling price is much lower than all the $$$ and labor that have
gone into it.
