Resetting your ECU & / or A/T Control Unit

It is very easy to reset your ECU & / or A/T Control Unit. The benefits of doing this are:
A. If you’ve made any engine modifications to your car it will give your car’s computer a
   chance to automatically adjust the air / fuel mixture.
B. If you are troubleshooting a error code it will reset the error codes to see if the errors
   return.

Note: Disconnecting the backup fuse also might cancel the radio preset stations and clock setting. Additionally, if your radio has an anti-theft code (most stock Honda radios do) then make sure you have the code written down before you do this!)

You will need the following:
1. A pair of needle nose pliers.

Disclaimer: This is not meant as a complete installation guide. Please refer to a good Honda repair manual such as “Helm”Also, be aware that anytime you work on or under a car it can be very dangerous. Please take the proper safety precautions! Always use proper jack stands. Last, don’t blame me for any installation you do as I’m just an amateur like the rest of you out there, so install at your own risk ;o)

1. Turn off your ignition to the completly off position.
2. Remove the plastic cover to the main fuse box. (Located in the engine compartment)
3. Using a pair of needle nosed pliers - Remove the “Back Up” fuse for ten seconds or more from
   the main fuse box. (Sometimes it also has a mark (RADIO) underneath the word “BACK UP”)
  (The 1990 Accord’s 7.5 back up fuse is located in the upper right corner of the box)
4. Replace the fuse.
5. Replace the plastic cover to the main fuse box.
6. Start the car and drive it above 30 mph (50 km/h).

The End.
