1990-1993 Accords (Possibly later years as well)
Problem: When the car sits in the hot sun for a
length of time and you try to start your car the engine cranks over fine but
does not start. Also, most of the time
you can open the doors and windows and let the inside of the car cool down a
bit and get the car to start as a temporary solution.
Solution:
The main relay is located
behind the dash on the driver side to the left of the steering column. It is
hidden above the silver cruise control box. After removing the cruise control
box, you should see the main relay with a gray and rosy colored base.
1.
Remove the cruise
control box using a 10 mm socket
2.
Remove the relay
3.
Squeeze in the
connector lock and Unplug the connector from the relay
4.
Installation is the
reverse of the procedure, although it isn't required to bolt it back at its
original spot. Move the relay to a low, suitable spot where it is cool and away
from heat vents.
