Tests for starting problems:(summary below. See next pages for more details). 1) check for spark out of any plug wire.... 2) if no spark take cap off....
3) put a jumper onto the coil outlet terminal and check for spark directly out of coil 4) if no spark remove the + and - wires going to the coil
5) test light grounded to body or engine test for power on + wire with Ignition on 6) if power.... take test light and put one end on - wire and other end on + wire 7) crank car over, test light should
flash...... if it flashes coil is defective, if it doesn't flash you have other problems. 8) other problems could be igniter or possibly distributor related. 9)My next test would be to put a 12v test light on
one of the connectors and see if you have injector pulse. If you had injector pulse then the ECU is getting a signal from the distributor and I would say the igniter is the problem.
