It is not too hard to replace the coil and should take less than 1 hour on average.
You will need the following:
1. An OHM Meter (Usually $20 USD or less for a simple OHM Meter) 2. Small 8 or 10mm socket and phillips screw driver 3. A 12 volt test light..
